My name is Maurice Jackson, and I am an HVAC instructor. What I do is pretty much teach guys how to work on air-conditioning systems. Basically, you learn how to troubleshoot, fix an air-conditioner or heating system, central air, refrigerators, commercial systems, etc. We do it all and teach it all here!

You don’t need a special background, just wanting to learn – that’s really all the background you would need is wanting to do it. Even those without a mechanical background, we can teach you basically everything you need to know – what tools you’ll need, and you just get used to doing it. By the time you finish school, you should be well equipped on doing all the things you need to do.

There’s a demand for HVAC students here at Ayers. Down in the South here, where we are at, it’s always hot so we’re always needing air-conditioning down here. And not only do we need the air-conditioning, but for in the winter time, we do teach you how to work on a heating system, also.

We have many area employers that call up to the school certain times and ask for our graduates. There are other schools that teach you (HVAC), but I think because of the equipment that we use and really the hands-on teaching that we do, students prefer to come here!
