Program Length: The Medical Assistant program is taught over the course of 36-weeks during the day.

Class Schedule: Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM – 1:50 PM.

The Medical Assistant program at Ayers Career College will include classroom instruction, plus hands-on training in a realistic medical setting with learning exercises set up with practical, real-life scenarios. Medical Assistant training covers the clinical skills necessary for successful work in the medical field, including a basic introduction to patient care, preparing patients for exams, reading and monitoring vital signs, medical terminology, and phlebotomy- amongst other administrative tasks. Students of this program have the opportunity to receive their First Aid and CPR certifications.

Ayers Career College Medical Assistant students will have the opportunity to work in an externship to gain real-world experience in a medical facility. These externships can occur in local medical facilities such as Ochsner LSU, Willis Knighton, Wee Care Pediatrics, and Boyd Family Medicine.
